The Warner Textile Archive is delighted to announce the launch of its first fashion collaboration with OASIS.
Working closely with the Warner Textile Archive the OASIS fashion team selected five historic designs from the extensive Archive Collection. Enchanted by their beauty, the OASIS design team reimagined the textiles in new scales, edits and colourways to create an exclusive range of woven, embroided and printed fabrics. The final result is a stunning capsule collection of 20 party pieces that can be seen online at the OASIS website.
Clive, Design Director at Oasis says:
“We were inspired to work with the Archive because it has one of the largest collections of historical fabrics in the Europe and they work closely with fashion students which is something we always love at OASIS! We loved the rich jacquards, especially the fabric we used on the gold mini skirt. It’s so exciting to bring something back to life. The collaboration is opulent, unique and historical”
Iain Hutton-Jamieson, Designer and Warner Textile Archive Trustee comments:
“OASIS have taken very complex designs from the Archive, textiles that cost a great deal when first manufactured and re-invented them for the 21st century, at a price which is accessible to the high street.
This is an amazing example of technological expertise breathing new life into fabric designs that would be uneconomic to manufacture in their original form today. The textiles are testimony to the expertise of the OASIS team and their mills; they have reawakened history and reworked craft skills, whilst creating new and beautiful interpretations.”
