The Warner Textile Archive is the United Kingdom’s largest publicly owned archive collection from a single luxury, textile manufacturer documenting the history of a great British industry from its local roots to global recognition.  It holds over 100,000 business records, paper designs, rule papers, trial samples, manufacturing equipment, hand-woven silks and printed textiles of Warner & Sons, their predecessors and successors, illustrating how luxury textile manufacturing changed over 150 years.

The Collection combines an extensive part of the business and design archives of Warner & Sons, as well as smaller collections of textiles and paper designs purchased by this internationally-renowned company for design inspiration.

The Digital Catalogue and Engagement Programme

Supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund Heritage Emergency Fund and the Arts Council England Cultural Recovery Fund the Warner Textile Archive has launched an ambitious project to catalogue and digitize the Archive Collection using Collections Index+ software by System Simulation.
