The Archive has undertaken special commissions to reproduce designs from the Collection for restoration projects at historic houses, or for interior designers looking for designs to complement a clients’ brief.

Floating Magnolia at Sissinghurst Castle

In 2010, the Archive was approached by the National Trust as it undertook a project to re-upholster the sofa and chair in the Long Library at Sissinghurst Castle, Kent. As it was not possible to identify the original 1920s screen-printed chintz, a close and sympathetic match in the form of Floating Magnolia was selected and digitally reprinted. The new coverings have been in place since 2011, and are still in use today.

Working closely with Annabell Westman, an original design from the Archive was reinterpreted and woven as walling.

The National Trust required a fabric to be printed to replicate the fabric used on the chaise in the watercolour of room

Choosing Leaf Trail from the WTA Collection, we worked to replicate the colours and chintz finish on a cotton fabric which will be used to recover the chaise.

If you would like to enquire about a reproduction or commission, please call the Archive on 01376 316780 for an initial discussion about your requirements and timeframe.
